Judge Houston Is A Responsible Parent posted May 13, 2008 We are always hearing about 'example,' and how parents nowadays are not setting a good example for their children. Well, it is refreshing to see that one parent is. Hats off to Judge Johnny Houston for personally taking his son down to the courthouse to pay his speeding ticket. This speaks volumes of Judge Houston as a parent and as a judge. I remember several years ago when we had a city judge who fixed tickets for himself and his staff. I remember reading about one Chattanooga elected official whose daughter had thousands of dollars in parking tickets that she didn't pay. Her father was an elected official and I guess both figured that she did not have to comply with the law like the rest of us. Like Judge Houston said, the law is supposed to apply to everybody. After today, I doubt that many folks will approach Judge Houston to 'fix' a ticket. Of course, this is how should be. Janet Waycaster Soddy-Daisy |
