Winget, Norma Lee posted May 13, 2008 Norma Lee Winget, 77, died at 408 Morning Glory Dr., Ringgold, on Tuesday morning, May 13, 2008. She was born in Chattanooga on June 23, 1930, and grew up in Alton Park and Rock Springs, Ga., the eldest daughter of George and Eva Hicks, and one of seven siblings (one of whom, Harry, preceded Norma to heaven on Monday). She graduated from Lafayette High School and Tennessee Temple University. She faithfully accomplished her calling as a wife, mother, and homemaker and was a member of Grace Baptist on Shallowford Road. Norma is survived by her husband of 56 years, Dr. David Winget; one daughter, Joy Smotherman, Ringgold; three sons, Steve, Budapest, Hungary, David Kharkov, Ukraine, and Phillip, Ringgold; a son-in-law and three daughters-in-law; one sister and her family; nine grandchildren, and one grandson-in-law. The funeral service will be held at Grace Baptist Church on Shallowford Road on Saturday, at 2 p.m. with Dr. Steve Euler presiding. The body will lie in state from 12:30-2 p.m. on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church or Hospice of Chattanooga. Condolences may be made at www.heritagefh.com. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, at Heritage Funeral Home on Battlefield Parkway. |
