Free Alternative Health Meeting Is June 22 posted May 13, 2008 The June Complementary Health Education Organization meeting is set for Sunday, June 22, 2-4 p.m. at Miller-Motte Technical College and is free and open to the public. Dr. Tom Stangel DC, DACNB, a neuro-behavioral chiropractor will speak on OCD, autism, ADHD, dyslexia and other neuro-behavioral challenges. He will discuss understanding the true nature of the mind/body connection and how the relationship between brain function and the health of the body is related. Dr. Stangel is one of two board certified chiropractic neurologists in the state of Tennessee. Dr. Stangel's practice specializes in a large variety of neurologically based health problems such as neurobehavioral disorders, balance disorders, movement disorder, neuropathy and chronic pain. He has been established in practice, in the Chattanooga area, since 1998. Dr. Rick Pimental-Habib of CSTCC will be speaking on "Living Your Best Self: building self-esteem, creating healthy relationships and learning self-care." Mary Alice Crapo, of the CHEO Board will speak on healthy heart care and will be doing free cardiovascular screenings on FDA-approved DPA - before and after the CHEO meeting. On Sunday, July 20, the meeting will be from 2-4 p.m. at Miller-Motte. The member spotlight will be Jean Terry, CHEO member, of Health By Choice, demonstrating the ion cleanse foot bath. Barbara Hoover, will be speaking on detoxing with the ion cleanse foot bath and lymph detox and how to make it more healthy. Dr. Crook will be speaking on osteopath versus chiropractic and the difference between the two. CHEO'S monthly meetings are free and open to all, part of its goal to increase public awareness of holistic, complementary and integrative healing modalities. |
