City Buying Hybrid Vehicles For Meter Patrol posted May 13, 2008 The city of Chattanooga is buying three hybrid vehicles for the parking meter patrol. Paul Page, director of general services, said it is an effort to reduce fuel costs. Mr. Page said if the hybrids work out, the city plans to buy more hybrid vehicles for the fleet. There were four bidders, and Mr. Page recommended the second lowest bidder - Capital Toyota. He said it would be easier to get service with a local dealer. North Georgia Toyota had the lowest bid by $1,300. The bid accepted by the City Council of Capital Toyota was $70,611. |
