On April 22 around 9:30 a.m., the victim, who was visiting the Chattanooga area, said he entered the business to wash some clothing and noticed the suspect was standing around. The victim asked the suspect if he worked there and the suspect told him yes. After a brief conversation the suspect then physically attempted to take the victim’s wallet. The victim resisted and during the altercation his pants pocket was ripped. The victim continued to resist and the struggle was taken outside, where the suspect was then able to gain control of the wallet and then jumped into a vehicle and fled the scene.
The suspect is a black male who was wearing a red ball cap, red pull over hoodie, khaki shorts and white tennis shoes. He fled in a silver colored vehicle on 31st Street.
