TWF Sportsmen's Leadership Summit
posted May 15, 2008

TWF will host the first ever Sportsmen's Leadership Summit in July in conjunction with the Tennessee Wildlife Extravaganza in Williamson County.

Leaders from hunting and fishing clubs from around the state will be invited to attend the summit on July 19 to establish common ground among hunters and anglers in Tennessee.

Representatives from TWF's affiliate clubs will break into groups by geographical regions to agree on local and regional agendas to present to the entire group, then hear and comment on statewide issues, such as the state Constitutional Amendment for the right to hunt and fish.

"Our goal with these meetings is to form regional coalition organizations to examine regional needs, and then to place them in context of the overall state picture," said Tom Scott, past President of TWF and program coordinator for the Camo+Casting Coalition. "There is much to be learned from working things from both a grassroots level, and also from the top down. We also hope to establish a statewide network to transfer information quickly and respond to issues."

For more information on how to participate, contact Tom Scott by email at tmwscott@comcast.net.
