Without really considering who should be the new sheriff, I made up my mind on Tuesday. The reason is obvious, Stuart James.
As faithful readers of the Chattanoogan must realize, Stuart James is great with words but woefully lacking in credibility. He's short on solutions and seems only good at tearing down anything in his path.
Now Stuart 'Let's Elect Billy Long' James says Jim Hammond is a bad choice. Seeing that, I applied the Stuart James 180 degree rule, which means being 180 degrees away from any position Stuart takes. It works every time and guaranteed to make sure you are in the right place.
Jim Hammond for sheriff. That doesn't make sense to Stuart James so it must make all the sense in the world.

I will be the first to say I agree with the "Stuart James rule" but the only problem that I have is that everything the man said about Jim Hammond is true. It is documented in past issues of the Chattanooga Free Press. The people of Hamilton County have had enough intelligence to tell this man twice they do not want him as sheriff. I just hope they continue to be smart enough to see through Mr. Hammond now.
This is a crucial election for Hamilton County. Elected officials have been tainted by the desire for money, and power. We need someone who is honest and has the desire to bring back the trust we so badly need in our sheriffs' department. We need someone who is not affiliated with either political party. Someone who will not owe anyone any "favors" due to their affiliation with a political party.
That someone is Jim Winters. I urge the voters to stop and take a look at this Independent candidate and when they do I think they too will agree that Jim Winters should be our next sheriff.
