The Chattanooga State Lady Tigers fell short in their bid for a national softball championship at Plant City, Fla., on Saturday.
Chattanooga State was one of the final three teams standing in the 2008 Division I National Junior College Softball Tournament.
However, they fell on Saturday to top-seeded Santa Fe Community College (Fla.), 6-1.
Santa Fe lost to Wallace State-Hanceville in the title game.
The other Chattanooga State loss was to Wallace State, which went undefeated in the tournament.
