Yunel Escobar
ATLANTA -- Yunel Escobar went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and the Braves' bullpen extended their scoreless innings streak to 16 as they defeated the Oakland A's, 3-2, on Sunday afternoon at Turner Field.

The Braves won the first Interleague series they played this year, 2-1.

Escobar's two-run single in the second inning proved to be the difference for the Braves, who have won nine of their last 10 at home. Atlanta owns the second-best home record in the Majors, at 16-5.

The Braves' bullpen, which continues to operate without a definite closer, has not allowed a run in 16 innings, dating to Thursday's game against the Phillies.

Four relievers -- Jeff Bennett, Blaine Boyer, Will Ohman and Manny Acosta -- were used Sunday to protect the Braves' early lead.

Ohman and Acosta combined for a scoreless ninth, Boyer allowed a triple -- but nothing else -- in the eighth and Bennett induced an Emil Brown groundout in the seventh to strand a runner on third.

After a Chipper Jones single and a Mark Teixeira double to lead off the eighth, pinch-hitter Omar Infante drove a two-RBI triple into the right-field corner to give the Braves some much-needed insurance runs.

Neither Braves starter Jo-Jo Reyes nor A's right-hander Justin Duchsherer had their best stuff on Sunday.

Reyes left with no outs in the sixth and the Braves up 3-2. Cox didn't hesitate to take out the left-hander, who constantly checked a lingering blister on his left index finger.

Facing just his second batter of the game, Reyes left a pitch on the inside part of the plate to Bobby Crosby and the A's shortstop drove it out of the park in left to give the A's a 1-0 lead.

Catcher Brian McCann tied the game at 1 with an RBI double into the right-field corner to score Escobar, who had reached on a single, in the first inning. The double was McCann's 17th of the season, most in the National League.

Atlanta has an off-day Monday.

The NY Mets and Braves play a day night doubleheader Tuesday at Turner Field.

Tom Glavine will start game one.

Jorge Campillo, who has pitched solely in the bullpen this season, will start the second game.
