Natural Grocery Store Provides Setting For Local Farmers And Artisans To Sell Their Products
posted May 19, 2008

Greenlife Grocery, located in the new 2 Northshore Shopping Center on Manufacturers Rd., has welcomed the spring season by beginning its Farmers Market.

The Market takes place on Wednesdays from 4-7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. and will run from May until October. Vendors will be set up on the sidewalk and parking lot next to the Greenlife Deli.

“The Market will provide an opportunity for our customers to meet and directly support our local merchants,” said Lori Bell, Farmers Market manager with Greenlife Grocery, “Supporting other local businesses will help to support our local economy, reduce our carbon footprint on the environment, and help make Chattanooga a more sustainable community.”

The market will offer starter plants, seasonal produce, regional honey, art, crafts, and flowers. “To coincide with the philosophy of Greenlife, all of the plants and produce sold at the market will be naturally grown and pesticide-free,” said Lori Bell.

Local musicians are being personally invited to play “unplugged” during the market, adding a festive atmosphere to the community gathering. “We hope to build stronger relationships between local producers, customers and ourselves by holding this market, as well as create a space for the community to gather together.”
