For the tenth consecutive year, a GPS student has been honored for her winning essay in the Chattanooga Bar Association’s annual Law Day Essay Contest.

Rebecca Tull, a freshman student of English teacher and Dean of Faculty Jessica Good, was honored at the Bar Association’s annual luncheon. She won a $1,000 college scholarship for her essay on “The Rule of Law: Foundation of Opportunity and Equity for Communities.”

Six essay winners were recognized at the luncheon. Rebecca is the daughter of Ms. Eunice Tull and Mr. Robert Tull of Dalton, Ga.

Joined by her English teacher and family, Rebecca knew she had one of the winning essays but was surprised when her name was the one called for the first place prize.

The guest Speaker, The Honorable William C. Koch, Jr., Tennessee Supreme Court Justice, reminded those in attendance that Americans “can continue to live under the rule of law if they collectively choose to keep it.”
