He is facing charges of aggravated assault and attempted murder.
Around 1 a.m., police responded to a shooting call at 642 W.14th Street Court. On arrival they found Derrick Thornton 29, had several gunshot wounds.
Witnesses said Thornton and a friend were standing on the porch when the suspect “Ced” approached them and an argument ensued over a female.
The suspect then began shooting at Thornton. He was transported to Erlanger Hospital, where he was admitted and is in critical condition.
