Howard High Students To Start School At 9 A.M.
posted May 20, 2008

Howard School of Academics and Technology students will be starting school at 9 a.m. this fall.

County school officials said they found a way to make the shift from the current 7:15 a.m. start without adding any bus costs.

Officials at one time said it would be very expensive to make the change that was ordered by state school officials for the current semester as one step in helping to curb truancy at the school.

County school officials were able to postpone the change until the start of the 2008-2009 school year by adding some staff to help with the truancy problem.

School will let out at 4 p.m.
