The Bucs will play Madison Academic, which brings a 15-2 record.
The Bucs are 13-2-2. Their two ties came on the road at McMinn Central and
at East Ridge.
Their two losses came back to back in early April against CSAS and Walker
Valley.
1998 Bucs Lost In State Championship Game:
The Bucs of 1998 upset perinieal power Ridgeway in the semifinals at Finley Stadium, scoring two goals in overtime to win 4-3. In the championship game, Lenoir City beat the Bucs 2-1.
Bucs on 10 game win streak
Boyd-Buchanan has won 10 straight games. Its last loss was to Walker
Valley on April 10. Boyd has outscored its last 10 oppanants 30-10 and has recorded three shutouts.
Bucs In Overtime:
The Bucs are sharp in overtime after winning three in a row in the district
and region tournaments. Boyd-Buchanan used overtime to beat CSAS in the district final then upset Notre Dame in the region semifinal also in extra-periods. Then the Bucs beat CSAS again in overtime in the region final.
Drastic Change In State Rankings:
The state rankings produced by www.eurosportscoreboard.com radically changed this week after upsets in the scenic city. The Bucs of Boyd-Buchanan jumped to 8th in the state after being unranked and CCS dropped from 3rd to 10th. Notre Dame dropped out of the poll after getting upset by the Bucs in the region semifinals. CCS fell to unranked CSAS.
