What a day. I agree with everything in the opinion column. No one was cutting down Al Gore and no one was called a racist or a bigot.
I especially enjoyed the opinion of Roy Exum about lowering the age for drinking and Mrs Winters' opinion about cell phones. People don't need to be using cell phones during church services or any place where people are trying to hear what's going on.
Everyone has a cell phone nowadays so you don't need to be showing off by using yours. There is a four-letter word in the dictionary that people should remember ......tact.
Most people drink to have fun and they don't bother anyone. I, too, believe that if a man or woman is old enough to go to war and die for this country they should be able to buy beer or anything else they want as long as they use their head and don't hurt anyone.
Again, these are grown people and should be treated like grown ups. I know there are people out there that will not agree with what I have written here. But these same people will run around with a frown on their faces and look down on anyone that doesn't do exactly like they do.
By the way, I am not saying that every young person should be in the military in order to be able to buy alcohol at a young age. Some people are proud to be in the service and some are not. I am one who was.
