Grievance Panel Rules For Carol Berz
posted June 13, 2008

A grievance committee of the Tennessee Supreme Court's Alternative Dispute Resolution Commission on Friday afternoon dismissed a complaint against City Councilwoman Carol Berz that she had wrongly held herself out to be an attorney during the City Council race earlier this year.

The three-man committee held a full evidentiary hearing at the Hamilton County Courthouse regarding a complaint filed by attorney Barry Abbott.

Following a discussion among themselves of the evidence presented, the committee members announced that the complainants could not prove the allegations in the complaint.

Councilwoman Berz was represented by attorney Roger Dickson.

Attorney Abbott was assisted by attorney Robin Flores.

Retired Judge Ben Cantrell headed the panel.

Ms. Berz has a local mediation service.
