Ok, do your best to follow this important logic concerning Chicken-On-A-Stick, and its importance to Riverbend and the world. Riverbend exists because of the fans that attend the festival - Not because of Jeff Styles, Chip Baker, the Mayor, or Angelina Jolie. Fans come to see and hear the bands that play at Riverbend and have a good time. The bands at Riverbend get to perform on stage with the finest sound possible, thanks to the professional stagehands at Chattanooga’s International Alliance of Theatrical and Allied Crafts Local 140. The best band in the world can sound terrible if the sound system isn’t right. Even the worst bands can be made to sound better with profession set-up and mixing. Riverbenders get to hear bands at their best.
Back to the chicken-on-a-stick. Because of the folks at Local 140, the bands at Riverbend sound great. Because of that, the fans come. Since the fans come, vendors also come, like the one from Louisiana that has Chicken-on-a-stick. Done right, this delicacy rivals all contemporary fine cuisine for excellence. Don’t eat the stick.
We got to meet Tiffany Lynn and the Eleventh Hour Band at the TVA Stage at the conclusion of their fine set. Reverend Tate plays lead guitar, Maranda Skye on bass, Robert Allen on rhythm guitar, Rodney Scott on drums, and of course the bad girl country lead vocalist Tiffany Lynn. She was actually very nice, so I am not sure where the moniker comes from.
The next band we heard was Danger Kitty, rock/pop band from near Chattanooga. They did the best version of “Material Girl” I have heard since Madonna.
Off to the Tennessee Valley Credit Union Stage we went for the Australian bluegrass band, The Greencards. Pretty darn fine music coming out of Australia I would have to say. One would have thought that they were fresh out of Dunlap, Tennessee with bluegrass that good.
Tonight we are going to catch Galactic and Burton-Cummings, and the best fireworks show in the Southeast.

Bachman-Cummings Band – Legendary pair from the super-group “Guess Who” and later, for Bachman – “Bachman-Turner Overdrive” will be performing for fans on the Coke Stage. Songs like Taking Care Of Business, These Eyes, American Woman, and No Sugar Tonight will probably drive the fans to a frenzy.
