School Board Needs Character Training
posted June 24, 2008

The reported Southeast Reagional Character Education Conference is being held and hosted by the HCDE. Hope they require the top leaders and school board members to attend. I don't think it will have much of an impact on students when they see so very little examples of character by the leaders. Back room deals is business as usual at HCDE and some board members, this shows the character of some.

Character: 1. The aggregate of features and traits that form the individual nature of some person or thing. 2. Qualities of honesty, courage, or the like; integrity. 3. A person, esp. with reference to behavior or personality: a suspicious character.

I remember the old description of an expert. Wears a suit, carries a briefcase, 50 miles or more from home and has a medical problem that gives a look of concern. I seriously doubt the speakers will speak about back room deals and refusing to answer questions honestly, but I guess these are not considered as character problems. Well we can hope the next election will bring change of all things being done in the open.

Wouldn't it be nice if we had an old time reporter that would dig all the facts about contracts, Register and Scales? Maybe some day.
