Woman Strikes Grandchild With Car; Child In Critical Condition
posted June 28, 2008

A 23-month-old child is in critical condition after being struck by a car driven by his grandmother on Saturday night.

The incident happened at 2016 Emma Kate Dr. just after 6 p.m.

Witnesses told police that the child and his mother had just exited the car and were walking toward their home as the child's grandmother re-parked the car.

When the grandmother pulled forward, she ran over him.

The child was taken to Erlanger Hospital, suffering from head and internal injuries.

Chattanooga Police traffic investigators charged the grandmother for driving on a suspended license. Other charges are pending.
