Jackie Wayne Ramey, 51, died on Saturday, June 28, 2008, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 22, 1956, in LaFayette, Ga., where he lived most of his life. He was of the Protestant faith and a former employee of both the Roper Corp. and Caron Spinning.
Jackie was preceded in death by his father, Russell "Bud" Ramey; grandparents, Joe and Pearl Lindsey, William Ramey and Lindy Ramey Brown; several aunts and uncles, nephew, Peyton Hills; and niece, Angela Gunnells.
Survivors include his mother, Magdeline Ramey, of Chickamauga, Ga.; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Linda Sue Brown, of Fort Oglethorpe, Annie Gail and Dennis Forrest, of Trion, Ga., Virginia "Jenny" Jackson, of Rockmart, Diane and Dennis Headrick, of Chickamauga; brother and sister-in-law, Roger Dale and Artie Sue Ramey, of LaFayette; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; and one great-great-nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mark McGuire officiating. Interment will follow in the LaFayette Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
