The Volkswagen board will vote on whether to approve the management decision on July 15 in Wolfsberg, Germany, the report says. The report says the plant will cost $788 million. Chattanooga and a site near Huntsville, Ala., are considered the leading contenders. There has been a flurry of activity at both sites in recent weeks as both seek to land the huge new industry. The Chattanooga site is the Enterprise South Industrial Park at Tyner. Chattanooga earlier was a finalist for another automotive plant that wound up going to Mississippi. |
