Marvin Kelly "Pa" Farris, 79, died on Saturday, June 28, 2008.
He served as criminal investigator for District 24 Judicial Circuit and served more than 20 years in the U.S. Army.
Son of the late Horace Marvin and Nell Grubb Farris, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Edith Hayes Farris and late wife, Phyllis Quisenberry Farris.
He is survived by his daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter, Kelly and Joe Noble and Amy Noble, all of Athens.
Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home chapel.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday at McMinn Memory Gardens with military honors.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home.
