CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Cincinnati Reds have announced several moves affecting the Chattanooga Lookouts.

RHP Sam LeCure has been placed on the disabled list, while LHP Camilo Vazquez has been promoted from Sarasota (A+) to replace his spot in the rotation.

INF Drew Anderson was recently activated from the disabled list, replacing OF Cody Strait, who was recently traded to the Kansas City organization, on the roster.

Strait was traded to the Kansas City Royals organization for a player to be named later. He was assigned to Wilmington (High-A) of the Carolina League. The former 12th round selection out of the 2004 First-Year Player Draft hit .257 with 17 doubles, three triples, and five homers for the Lookouts.

LeCure, who went on the disabled list with a left knee strain (retroactive to June 29th), is 7-4 with a 3.46 ERA on the season. The Missouri mule has not yielded more than two runs in an outing during his last five starts. In 91 innings this year, he has accrued 82 strikeouts.

Vazquez, who has split time between Sarasota (High-A) and Louisville (AAA), will make his first start of the season for the Lookouts on Wednesday. The left has played predominantly at Sarasota, where he appeared in 20 games (four starts), going 4-2 with a 4.80 ERA and one save. In 50.2 innings, he has yielded 55 hits, 20 walks, while striking out 43. The lefty pitched in two games in relief for Louisville, surrendering just one run. Vazquez spent the entire 2007 season in the Lookouts’ rotation. In 21 starts, he went 4-8 with a 5.14 ERA.

Anderson has split time between Chattanooga and Louisville this season. In a Lookouts’ uniform, he has hit .213 with four homers, nine doubles, a triple, and 16 RBIs in 48 games.
