Leo M. Brown To Chair Memorial’s Board Of Directors posted July 2, 2008
Leo M. Brown, CLU, ChFC, AEP, partner in the financial services company of Davis, Smith & Brown, Inc., has been reappointed as chair of Memorial’s Board of Directors. Mr. Brown has a long history of community involvement including service on the boards of Caldsted Foundation, Youth Leadership Chattanooga, Tennessee Catholic Public Policy Commission, and the National Association of Insurance and Finance Advisors. He is also an active member of the Chattanooga Rotary Club and past president of the Serra Club. Joan Frierson, longtime community volunteer, will serve as immediate past chair. Mike Costello, CPA/ABV, with Joseph Decosimo and Company, will continue in his role as vice chair and Katherine Lindgren, Ph.D., director of Nursing at University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, returns as secretary to the board. New members to the Board are Charles L. Arant, president, Tennessee Aquarium; Dr. Arlene Donowitz, president of Memorial Health Care System Medical Staff and a specialist in internal medicine; Carolyn R. Thompson, Ph.D., professor, Department of Political Science, University of Tennessee, Chattanooga; Dr. Wayne T. Scott, specialist in Internal Medicine; and Carolyn H. Smeltzer, Ed.D., Partner, Health Industries Advisory Consulting Services, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. The board represents a wide range of diversity with leaders from business and industry, health care, education, community service, and the faith-based community. Other board members include Sister Catherine Arnold, SCN, of Flaget Memorial Hospital; Dr. Eric Conn, Cardiologist; Joseph F. Dana, retired CEO of Propex Corporation; Dorothy Grisham, Independent Allstate Agent; Earline Hobbs, SCN, coordinator of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth Community Ministry in Bardstown, Kentucky; Warren E. Logan, Jr., President of the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga, Inc.; Christopher McKee, vice president, McKee Foods; Scott Ossewaarde, president of the Roper Corporation; BettyeLynn Smith, Executive Director of Community Impact of Chattanooga; Sister Betty Vannucci, SCN, Coordinator/Russell Hall Community, Nazareth, Kentucky and Debra L. Moore, interim president and chief executive officer of Memorial Health Care System. |
