Police said another man fired several shots at 21-year-old Jacquard M. Petty, then shot him in the head after he collapsed on the ground.
On Thursday night, police arrested 26-year-old Carltrovous Moore and charged him with criminal homicide, aggravated assault with a gun and reckless endangerment with a gun.
Patrol officers responded on a person shot call at 2:29 a.m. and located the victim lying in the middle of 2200 Milne St. suffering form a gunshot wound to the head.
He was transported by private vehicle to Erlanger Hospital and admitted in very critical condition.
Police said Thursday afternoon that he had died.
He was shot in the area of the left eye.
Homicide investigators' preliminary findings are the victim and a woman were involved in a verbal argument at the 2301 Club located at 2301 Milne St. The argument continued to the parking lot of the club, where the female and the victim’s girlfriend (unidentified at this time) got into a physical altercation.
The unidentified female’s boyfriend produced a handgun and confronted the victim in the business parking lot of J.T. McDaniel. The suspect chased the victim across the street to the Big K Grocery and Liquor Store (909 Dodson Ave.) and shot at the victim several times.
The victim continued running west on Milne Street, where he fell or collapsed and was shot in the head while down.
The suspect fled the scene on foot after the shooting.
The victim only sustained the one gunshot injury that has been verified.
