Police Blotter: Drug Suspect "Strapped" With Loaded Revolver
posted July 3, 2008

Police said when they were making a drug arrest on Walker Avenue a suspect alerted them he was "strapped."

Officers found a Kel-Tec P .40-caliber revolver loaded with a full nine rounds.

Johnathon Britt, 20, was taken into custody after saying he had "a 40" on him.

Police said Britt has two prior felony drug arrests.

Officers said Britt was one of three black males seen in the front yard of a home on Walker Avenue.

They said an elderly resident had posted a "No Trespassing" sign, but his yard and front porch were still used for drug activity and gangs.

Police said they saw the three men apparently making a hand-to-hand drug transaction in the man's yard.

Police said the area where the arrest was made has "a large amount of violent crime and drug activity and numerous violent street gangs."

Walker Avenue runs parallel to Citico Avenue in the Orchard Knob community.

Shadara Bonds said she was naked in bed at her Rossville Boulevard apartment when there was continual knocking at the door on Wednesday. She said the bug man comes every Wednesday.

She said she finally went to the door, and the bug man and the apartment manager "Bob" strode inside and saw her nude while she was trying to get her clothes on.

She said they were fussing at her about having a boyfriend with her who was not supposed to be there.
