Dr. Bill Stacy Retiring As Baylor School President Former UTC Chancellor To Stay On During 1-2-Year Search Process posted July 4, 2008 Dr. Bill Stacy has announced his retirement as CEO and president of Baylor School. The former UTC chancellor announced his retirement plans to the Baylor School board at the last meeting of the school year. Barbara Kennedy, Baylor spokesperson, said Dr. Stacy plans a formal announcement to the Baylor community in August. She said he will stay on during the search process for a successor, which could take 1-2 years. Jack Stanford, longtime Baylor board member and former administrator and teacher, is heading up the committee. Dr. Stacy left UTC to take the Baylor post in the summer of 2005. Baylor officials said, "The next president of Baylor School will be an experienced administrator who must understand, honor, and strengthen the school’s traditions. The successful candidate must respect the Jeffersonian principles upon which the school was founded, with the intent of preparing students for the university and the business of life and sustaining the mission to foster in students both the ability and the desire to make a positive difference in the world. "The board is seeking a good match for the next leader of the school who is able to serve in this capacity for a lengthy tenure. The compensation package of salary, benefits, and perquisites is highly competitive with other comparable schools and commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate." |
