Promotions And New Hires At Cornerstone Community Bank

Barry Watson, a 30-year veteran of the banking industry, has been promoted to executive vice president of Cornerstone Community Bank. Mr. Watson joined Cornerstone in 2002. Prior to that, he held executive positions with several other banks in the area.

A native of Chattanooga, Mr. Watson is a graduate of UTC. He currently serves on the Finance Advisory Board at UTC and the boards of Chattanooga Christian School and Shepherd Arms Mission. He and his wife and their two daughters reside in East Brainerd and are members of City Church.

Jim McKenzie has joined Cornerstone Community Bank as vice president and relationship manager at the Miller Plaza branch. He comes to Cornerstone with a background in banking, logistics management and consulting, having most recently served as vice president of operations with Kenco Logistic Services.

A native of Chattanooga and graduate of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, Mr. McKenzie serves on the board of the St. Peter’s Episcopal School, is active in coaching youth athletics, and has served in various community and civic organizations throughout his career. He and his wife Katie and their two children reside in Chattanooga.

Pam Sprouse has joined Cornerstone Community Bank as relationship manager and bank officer in the Gunbarrel branch. She brings 12 years experience in banking to her new position, having formerly served as a financial sales consultant with a national bank and, most recently, as assistant to the executive vice president of a Georgia-based bank.

A native of Chattanooga, Ms. Sprouse is married with three sons and resides in the Harrison area.

Sam Moody has joined Cornerstone Community Bank as senior vice president and consumer loan officer at the Gunbarrel branch. Prior to joining Cornerstone, he was executive vice president of a regional bank in the Fort Oglethorpe branch. Before that, he served as senior vice president, commercial and consumer loan officer of a national bank in its Gunbarrel Road branch, where he had served as branch manager for seven years.

Mr. Moody majored in Industrial Management at Cleary College in Ypsilanti, Mi., and completed the Tennessee Young Bankers program at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. He is married with two daughters and three grandchildren, and currently resides in East Ridge, where is a member of The Crossing, a ministry of The East Ridge Church of God.

Brett Johnson has joined Eagle Financial, Inc., a commercial finance company and subsidiary of Cornerstone Community Bank, as vice president and chief administrative officer in their Lee Highway office. He brings to Eagle 16 years of banking experience and six years as an entrepreneur. His banking experience includes serving as an examiner with the Georgia Banking Department in Atlanta; loan review officer with the National Cooperative Bank in Washington, D.C.; and relationship manager at Fuji Bank International Agency in Atlanta. Locally, he worked in the downtown Chattanooga office of a regional bank prior to starting and growing a multi-million dollar wholesale distribution business.

Mr. Johnson is a 1985 graduate of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and received the Certified Cash Manager Designation in 2000. He currently resides in Ooltewah with his wife and three children. He is a member of the St. Stephens Church and is active in coaching youth athletics.
