Field & Stream Launches GenerationWild.Com posted July 17, 2008 New Website For Youth Outdoorsmen, Enter the Generation Wild Pro Staff Search Contest to Win a Free Spring Turkey Hunt from Realtree at www.generationwild.com Field & Stream Outdoor Magazine has announced the official launch of a new website aimed at getting America's youth off the sofa and into the great outdoors. The site, GenerationWild.com, offers comprehensive information to young sportsmen and -women on a wide range of outdoor topics through videos, photo galleries, beginner's guides, quizzes and blogs. "Every month we get more and more letters from young hunters and anglers who read the magazine," says Anthony Licata, editor of Field & Stream. "We wanted to make something exclusively for them-a place where they can share ideas, get information and just have fun. Generation Wild does just that." Field & Stream also announced the creation of the new "Generation Wild Junior Pro Staff." Members will have the opportunity to contribute to the website's blog as well as its photo and video galleries. The magazine will select four Generation Wild Junior Pro Staffers who will win a spring turkey hunt in 2009 provided by Realtree, the presenting sponsor of Generation Wild. The Junior Pro Staffers will also receive a custom-fit bow from Generation Wild's archery sponsor, BowTech, and have the opportunity to meet with Field & Streameditors. Additional prizes include Realtree clothing and gear, a digital camera and a video camera. To apply to be a Generation Wild Junior Pro Staffer, visit www.generationwild.comto submit an application no later than August 15, 2008. Applicants must be between the ages of 15-18 to be eligible. "If you think you might like to write for Field & Stream or be on the Realtree Pro Staff one day then this is a great opportunity for you," says Licata. "You'll get a lot of great gear and trips, and your voice will be heard by all the other outdoorsmen through the Generation Wild website." GenerationWild.com also offers users plenty of opportunities for outdoor entertainment and education as well as a blog where they can share photos, videos and ideas. The website's Beginner's Guides deliver information on getting started in everything from coyote hunting to salmon fishing, and more guides are added every week. Experienced sportsmen will find tips to help them fine-tune and test their skills in the website's Quizzes and Outdoor Skills sections. And the regularly updated Articles cover the best hunting and fishing destinations and adventures. Field & Stream Offers Advice to Mentors Field & Stream also provides tips and advice to parents and mentors hoping to introduce youth to the outdoors. Each month the magazine features a Generation Wild column that advises adults on various aspects of getting kids interested in fishing and hunting.
