Mowery, Roy Lloyd "Doc" (Cleveland)

Roy Lloyd “Doc” Mowery, 83, of Cleveland, died Wednesday at the family residence.

He was the son of the late Hattie Walker Mowery and James Mowery. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Mowery; sister, Nellie Mowery; brothers, Allen Mowery and Billy Mowery.

Mr. Mowery served in the United States Army and fought in WWII and he worked for 17 years at Bradley Farmers Co-op. He enjoyed coon hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. He was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include his daughters, Jennifer Cooper of Cleveland, Martha Benson and Carol Shaw both of Benton; son, Keith Mowery of Calhoun, Tn.; 16 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A Remembrance of Life graveside service with military honors will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at the U.S. National Cemetery in Chattanooga with Eva Knab officiating. Jim Rush Funeral Homes, Wildwood Avenue Chapel is in charge of cremation services.
