Albert M. Stone, 92, of Mowbray Mountain, Tn., died in a local nursing care facility on Thursday.
He was born in Chattanooga and was a graduate of Chattanooga City High School. He worked in the electrical construction industry and was a 72 year member of the IBEW, having been a member of local unions in both Chattanooga and Jersey City, NJ. He lived many years in northern NJ. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his father Albert M. Stone and his mother, Dora Friedman Stone-Sears; his son, Senior Chief Petty Officer Albert M. Stone III; sister Alice Corley; and brother George Stone.
He is survived by his wife, the former Betty Sims; son, Harry T. (and Pam) Stone of Red Bank; daughter Gaile Low of Marietta, Ga.; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Al Kaschimer officiating. Burial will be in the National Cemetery in Chattanooga. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
