He was born and raised in Spring City, Tn., where he graduated from Spring City High School in 1956. He later moved to Chattanooga where he worked for Velsicol Chemical for ten years, and then the Tennessee Department of Transportation, where he retired in 2000 after 28 years of service.
Mr. Boles was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Minnie Boles; three wives, Peggy Rose Morgan, the mother of all four sons, Kotha Bates, and Brenda Moore; one brother, Morgan Boles; two sisters, Margaret and Ellen.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Jean Boles, of Dayton; sons, and daughters in-law, Michael and Michelle Boles of Knoxville, Kevin Boles, Mark and Monica Boles and Terry Boles, all of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Morgan and Emma Boles of Chattanooga, Sarah and Lauren Boles of Knoxville, and Cody, Alex, and Hannah, also of Chattanooga; brother and sister in-law, Ott and Vivian Boles; and cousin, Charlene Gibbs, all of Spring City.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Keylon officiating. Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the chapel.
