Stone, Albert M.
72-Year Member Of IBEW

Albert M. Stone of Mowbray Mountain died in a local nursing care facility on Thursday, July 17, 2008. He was 92.

He was born in Chattanooga and was a graduate of Chattanooga City High School. He worked in the electrical construction industry and was a 72-year member of the IBEW, having been a member of local unions in both Chattanooga and Jersey City, N.J. He lived many years in northern N.J. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II.

His father, Albert M. Stone, and his mother, Dora Friedman Stone-Sears; his son, Senior Chief Petty Officer Albert M. Stone III; sister Alice Corley; and brother George Stone all preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, the former Betty Sims; son, Harry T. (and Pam) Stone of Red Bank; daughter Gaile Low of Marietta, Ga.; three grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.

Services will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Al Kaschimer officiating.

Burial will be in the National Cemetery in Chattanooga.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
