Bradley Jail Holds 55 Inmates After Bus Has Mechanical Problems posted July 21, 2008 Fifty-five federal inmates on their way from Alabama to a detention facility in the northern U.S. were temporarily housed at the Bradley County jail after the bus transporting them incurred mechanical problems on I-75. Correction officers contacted the Bradley County 9-1-1 center around 8 p.m. Sunday that the bus was at exit 33. The 55 men on board were brought to the Bradley County jail where they were held overnight while transportation plans were worked out. Sheriff Tim Gobble said he was glad the sheriff’s office could provide a secure place where these inmates could be held until alternate transportation was available. The BCSO jail is a designated federal holding facility, providing housing for up to 100 inmates under a contract with the U.S. Marshall’s Service. |
