Bishop James E. Swanson, Sr. will be preaching at Burks United Methodist Church in Hixson on Sunday. He will be in both the contemporary (9:30) and traditional (11:00) worship services. A Homecoming covered dish lunch will follow in the church’s activity center.
Bishop Swanson has been the episcopal leader of the Holston Annual Conference since September 2004. At the time of his election, he was superintendent of the Savannah District of the South Georgia Annual Conference. He is a popular preacher, teacher and leader throughout the United Methodist connection.
