UTC's Dr. Cherry Guinn To Conduct Workshops For Rural Nurses posted July 22, 2008 Dr. Cherry Guinn, UTC Associate Professor of Nursing, has secured $29,999 from the Health Resources and Services Administration to fund a three-day professional development workshop for rural public health nurses. This is the second year of a three year program designed to support and educate regional nurses, with total funding expected to reach $89,997. Dr. Guinn and her team designed the program specifically to meet the continuing education needs of rural public health nurses in the region. The goals of the program include expanding participants' knowledge of family and children's health, teaching innovative strategies to promote wellness, and establishing a communication and support network among rural nurses. |
