Lula "Pauline" Hood Pinkerton Stewart, 84, died on Monday, July 21, 2008.
She was born in the Kensington Community to the late Harley and Ora Rush Hood. She had lived most of her life in North Georgia in the Chickamauga, LaFayette and Chattanooga Valley communities.
She had worked in several businesses such as Crystal Springs Mill, Ruth's Five & Dime, Chickamauga Restaurant, Hart's Auto Parts and Synthetic Weavers.
She was a member of Way of Cross Baptist Church in Kensington. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, William James Pinkerton Sr. and James H. Stewart; and also three brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie and Jim Wallace, of Chickamauga, Shirley and Robbie Reeves, of Boaz, Al., Janice Lowe, of Chickamauga; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Florence Pinkerton, of Douglasville, Ga., Mike and Patsy McGlothin, of Chickamauga, W.J. Pinkerton Jr., of LaFayette, Ga., Mike and Nancy Stewart, of LaFayette; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, in the chapel with the Rev. Lee Griggs and the Rev. Bill Ingle officiating. Burial will follow in Singleterry Cemetery, Cooper Heights, Ga.

The family will receive friends from 3-9 p.m. on Wednesday, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and 4-9 p.m. on Thursday, and Friday morning until the service.
