The outside of the new Signal Mountain High School looks finished, but inside workmen are still putting the finishing touches to the building. Teachers have been at work this week putting their classrooms in order. Among projects to be completed after school starts is a large new gym near the high school entrance.

The welcome sign is out at the new Signal Mountain Middle School entrance, which is close to completion. Teachers spent the day Monday setting up their classrooms while construction work continues on the high school portion of the building.

It was moving in day for teachers at the new Signal Mountain Middle/High School. Principal Eddie Gravitte watches as librarian Ariel Poss unpacks some of the hundreds of boxes of books that fill the shelves. The library will serve both middle and high school students.
