Mrs. Cope was born in Trenton, Ga., to David and Minnie Cuzzort. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to her family. She will always be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Surviving are her children, Tommy Cope, Pat (Jack) Graham, and David (Kim) Cope; grandchildren, Laura Avans, Daniel, Cody, Cherylynn, and Makayla Cope; four great-grandchildren; sister, Clara Ellison; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin "Gib" Cope and daughter-in-law, Laura I. Cope.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Friday, and 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Everett Gossett officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Gardens West.
Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, & Florist, 404 S. Moore Road, East Ridge, Tn. 37412.
