Worked For Provident Insurance For 27 Years

Gay Y. Welter, 75, of Rossville, died on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at her residence.
She was a lifelong resident of Rossville where she was an active member of the Simpson United Methodist Church, the Forward Group, and the Rossville High School Class of 1949.
Mrs. Welter retired in 1983 from Provident Life and Accident Insurance Company as an Insurance Group Underwriter with 27 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Myron Welter; sister, Joyce Welter; and brother, Lebron Young.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Jeffrey Mahan of Rossville; grandson, Byron Mahan of Rossville; two brothers, Ray Young of Millbrook, Al., and Doug Young of Rossville; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with the Rossville High School Class of 1949 serving as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville.
