Movies In The Park
posted July 31, 2008

Thank you, Chattanooga for making First Things First's Movies in the Park a great success! Despite early evening showers on two Saturdays, nearly 15,000 movie-goers joined us for our sixth summer of providing a great family-friendly event at Coolidge Park.

Talk about civic pride—Chattanooga you were awesome! The way everyone pitched in to clean up their area each night allowed us to leave Coolidge Park in beautiful shape after each movie.

A special thank you to several of our key partners: Gene Toney and his staff from Chattanooga Parks and Recreation went above and beyond their normal duties. Randy Carpenter and Family Concessions provided great festival food. In addition, Sergeant David Gibb and his team of officers helped to ensure that things ran smoothly throughout the entire month.

And Movies would not be possible without our sponsors: Hamico Foundation, T.C. Thompson's Children's Hospital, Geico Insurance-local Chattanooga office, Comcast, Sunny 92.3, Chattanooga Times Free Press, Chattanooga Parks and Recreation Department, and Lifeguard Ambulance Service.

Thanks again for a great year! See you July 11, 2009 at Movies in the Park!
