Lone Oak Library Selling Books And Iris posted August 4, 2008 The Lone Oak Free Library is usually open two days a week for the community to check out and return books from its wide variety. The library is free to anyone in the community. For four days, August 7-10, the library will be selling books, over 800 hardcover books and over 700 paperback books, from their collection or that have been contributed for the sale. This will be held at the same time as the annual 127 Yard Sale. "This will include cookbooks, gardening books, needlework books, children's books, Westerns and other novels," according to Librarian William Helrigel. This will clear the shelves of older or duplicate books so there will be space for new books. In addition, there will be a sale of iris rhizomes, each with a picture to show what it will look like when it blooms. The library at the Lone Oak Community Center, 1278 U.S. 127, will be open for the sale from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. all four days. Proceeds from the sale will be used to buy new books for the library. |
