UTC's Dr. Jonathan Mies Will Provide Expert Analysis For Local Law Firm posted August 5, 2008 Dr. Jonathan Mies, UTC Robert Lake Wilson Professor of Geology, has received $444 from William J. Brown & Associates to analyze evidence samples purported to be cremated human remains ("cremains"). Dr. Mies was sought out by the law firm due to his expertise on using X-Ray diffraction to identify unique crystalline substances found in human bone. This process proves highly successful in distinguishing human cremains from other substances. |
