Cleveland Picked To Win Region 4-4A Football Title

Cleveland's Blue Raiders have been picked to unseat Red Bank as the Region 4-4A high school football champions.

The Blue Raiders, coached by Danny Wilson, were chosen No. 1 in a coaches' poll conducted by Murphy Fair and published in his book, Tennessee High School Football 2008.

1. Red Bank, 7-0, 12-1

3. Cleveland, 5-2, 7-4
4. Rhea County, 4-3, 6-5
5. Chattanooga Central, 2-5, 3-7
6. Walker Valley, 2-5, 3-7
7. Hixson, 2-5, 2-8

Wilson returns nine starters on offense and seven on defense.

Of the 18 players listed by Wilson as starters, 13 are seniors.

Red Bank, which has been dominating the league for several years now, will be reloading. The Lions have won four straight region titles.

Rhea County features Tennessee commitment Kevin Revis on the line along with Josh Walker.

Brainerd will looking to advance to the state playoffs the third straight season under coach Marvin Jones.

Hixson could be better this year as coach Houston White returns a 26-player senior calss.
