Signal Mountain To Celebrate Coach Al Ball Day posted August 7, 2008 In recognition of Coach Al Ball’s service and leadership in the community, the Town of Signal Mountain has declared August 22, 2008 Coach Al Ball Day. The community hopes to surprise Coach Ball by honoring him during halftime of the inaugural football game at the new Signal Mountain Middle/High School on August 22, 2008. Coach Ball is a Korean War Veteran and graduate of Carson-Newman College. In 1961, Coach Ball started his coaching and teaching career at SMJH. As an educator, coach and counselor, Coach Ball has touched the lives of numerous students, athletes and adults. The Signal Mountain community asks help in keeping this a secret; but spreading the word. |
