2008 Miss Rhomania Pageant Contestants Announced

SGRho Fund in partnership with Gamma Theta Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. announced the contestants of the 2008 Miss Rhomania Pageant. The triennial pageant generates funds for scholarships for deserving high school seniors and to support community charitable endeavors.

Contestants ranging in age from four to 17 will grace the stage of the Tivoli Theatre on Saturday, Sept. 6, at 6 p.m., vying for the titles of Little Miss Rhomania and Miss Rhomania.

The pageant will showcase contestants who will be presented to the Chattanooga community to demonstrate "Royalty has Come." The program will also feature local artists.

Competing for the title of Little Miss Rhomania are Little Miss Jahkira Bryant, daughter of Ms. Sherena Robinson and Mr. Brooks Bryant; Little Miss Kearri'anna Johnson, daughter of Ms. Lakeshia Greer; Little Miss McKayla Fluellen, daughter of Mr .and Mrs. Demetrius McCrary; Little Miss Amari Hines, daughter of Ms. Kimesa Moore and Mr. Michael Hines; Little Miss Khalia Rashed Granville, daughter of Ms. Kamilah Rashed and Mr. Marvell Granville; Little Miss Sierra Herdon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willie Herndon, Jr.; and Little Miss Madison Myers, daughter of Ms. Sydney Myers and Mr. Julius Burrows.

Contending for the title of Miss Rhomania are Miss D'Erica Baker, daughter of Ms. Carol Beckett; Miss Kristal Banks, daughter of Ms. Adrienne D. Sharpley and Mr. Marcus D. Sales; Miss Thomonica Beckett, daughter of Ms. Carol Beckett and Mr. James Beckett; Miss Jacquelyn Benford, daughter of Ms. Bridgett Benford and Mr. Anthony Benford; Miss Teeona Hall, daughter of Ms. Laurie Williams; Miss Alexis McDermott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Barry Bradford; Miss Adeyinka Ladapo, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rasheed Ladapo; Miss Tia McClellan, daugther of Mr. and Mrs. James McClellan; Miss Bryanna Robinson, daughter of Ms. LaTasha Hammock and Mr. Kenneth Robinson; Miss Saquinsia Rogers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Hill; Miss Vinesha White, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent White; and Miss Kiera Wilson, daughter of Ms. Virginia Howard and Mr. Rodney Wilson.

The 2008 theme for the Miss Rhomania Pageant is "Adebumi," which means "Royalty has Come."

Tickets for this event are $35 for adults and $15 for youth ages ten and under.
