Two Lookouts' Pitchers Combine To Shutout Smokies Thursday, 2-0 posted August 7, 2008
The Lookouts entered the scoreboard in the second. After two outs were quickly recorded, Drew Anderson singled to start the rally. With Chris Denove batting, starting pitcher Esmailin Caridad (4-3) committed a balk to advance Anderson to second. Denove then made Caridad pay for his mishap by nailing an RBI single to center. Chattanooga scored their second and final run in the third on a solo shot from Sean Henry. Jukich improved to 9-4 on the season for the Lookouts by throwing seven innings of shutout baseball. He struck out seven, while yielding just eight hits on the evening. Robert Manuel pitched the final two innings in shutout fashion to notch his second save of the season. * * * * * * Chattanooga continue their five-game homestand against the Tennessee Smokies at 7:15 P.M., Friday.
