Ducktown Dodge Owner Facing Federal Charges posted August 8, 2008 Federal authorities have arrested Erik Brucker, owner of Ducktown Dodge, and charged him with a scheme to defraud SunTrust Bank. Brucker appeared before Federal Magistrate Judge Bill Carter and was given a $20,000 bond. The indictment says the scheme occurred from May 2001 to January 2002. It says Brucker recruited a banker at SunTrust, Baron Mayes, to facilitate car loans to Ducktown Dodge customers regardless of their credit worthiness in exchange for payments and the free use of vehicles provided by Ducktown Dodge. Mayes was charged earlier. |
