CHA’s YouthBuild Program Accepting Applications

The Chattanooga Housing Authority’s YouthBuild program is currently accepting applications. YouthBuild is a nine-month job training/educational program that targets young people ages 16-24 who have dropped out of high school, and are interested in learning basic construction skills.

Participants all taught carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting and landscaping – all while they work toward earning a GED. Participants also earn a biweekly stipend. YouthBuild is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

YouthBuild applications will be accepted on the following dates and times:

Wednesday, Aug. 20
10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Emma Wheeler Homes
(Gymnasium)
Thursday, Aug. 21
10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Harriet Tubman Development
(Management Office)
Friday, Aug. 22 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
East Lake Courts
(Recreation Center)

Applications are also available at the following locations on Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. -
5 p.m. at the YouthBuild Office, located at 1300 Grove Street; CHA’s Central Office, located at 801 N. Holtzclaw Ave.; and all public housing communities. Call (423) 752-4173 for more information about YouthBuild.
