New Pictorial Compiled on Fort Oglethorpe Post
posted August 16, 2008

The Post Community Association is an organization dedicated to the preservation and restoration of historic Fort Oglethorpe Post. A member of the group has recently retrieved pictures and data from the National Archives on the majority of buildings of Fort Oglethorpe Post.

The data and pictures (totaling more than 100), along with the building plans for every building that exists or existed on Officers' Row, have been compiled into a book titled "Officers' Row, From the Ground Up." Most of the structures are no longer existing.

The book will be on display at the Post Community Association booth during Labor Day at the Post (at Barnhardt Circle), which will be held on September 1, 2008 from 11:00 am - 5:00 pm. Veterans of World War II who were stationed at Fort Oglethorpe are especially invited.
